There is one main street through town enroute to Sequoia National Park. There are a few places to overnight and one grocery store. It was a pioneer logging town from 1860s.

On the other hand, there is Trois Riviere, Quebec province which is the 2nd oldest city north of Mexico. The Canadian city had a population of 151,000 in 2011 and in 2015, only 135,000.
Rivers from the north flow into the Saint Lawrence River.

Three Rivers south was probably named for the confluence of rivers.
