The wreck of USS Arizona remains at Pearl Harbor to commemorate the men of her crew lost that December morning in 1941. The memorial, built in 1962, straddles the sunken hull of the battleship without touching it.

The sunken remains of the battleship USS Arizona destroyed in battle during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor were declared a National Historic Landmark and added on the US National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
