The plaque says, "The Coast live oak trees that grace Los Rios Park were generously donated by Ms. Joan Irvine Smith in 2009. Ms. Smith's sense of stewardship for land, and passion for environmental preservation and San Juan Capistrano, has made a tremendous difference in our community. Her endless donations and gifts to the community are forever etched in the fabric of San Juan Capistrano. These picturesque trees will be enjoyed by the community for generations to come."
