Recovered in good condition as described in the NGS datasheet with the exception that Grass Lake railroad station no longer exists and the highway has been re-routed to the east. This BM is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 4650'. My more accurate coordinates should place you very close to this station.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 4.6 MI S FROM GRASS LAKE. 4.6 MILES SOUTH ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 97 FROM THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY RAILROAD STATION AT GRASS LAKE, AT THE SOUTH END OF A CUT, IN THE TOP OF AN OUTCROP, 57.6 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 38.4 FEET WEST OF A 12-INCH PINE TREE, 10 FEET HIGHER THAN THE HIGHWAY, AND ABOUT 1/2 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND.
