Found this info online:
Trousdell's Peace Pole takes off from the tradition of a pole featuring the message "May Peace Prevail on Earth" by adding numerous peace symbols. There are more than 20 different symbols on this pole.
One of the oldest is the ancient Asian triad -- three balls -- symbolizing peace in the past, the present and the future. Others are more classic to us, such as the olive branch, the dove, a rainbow and the peace sign, which was popularized during the 1960s. Perhaps less familiar are mistletoe from a Nordic tradition; sunflowers, which are now placed in cleared mine fields worldwide; and palm leaves from the Judaic tradition, such as those laid at the feet of Jesus as he entered Jerusalem.
This is a very tall and lovely pole, though a bit faded as it was planted in the garden on May 23, 2010.
Languages: English, Japanese and various symbols
