This survey monument is located at the Boston-Brookline city line at the Riverway just south of the former Sears Building and near the Fenway stop on the T. The stone is on the west side of the water, near a path running alongside it.
This marker probably dates to the construction of the Emerald Necklace, of which the Riverway here was a part. At that time, the borders between Brookline and Boston were adjusted, and this was probably placed as park of the effort to clarify them on the ground.
