Wrought iron arches were costly. Hard to say how long this will stand or if it is maintained (oil, stain or). It was build by the Bureau of Reclamation to identify and accommodate the closure of community cemeteries that would be inundated by Folsom

In pioneer days, this type arch would have been the most common.
The symbolism reflects the passage from life to another dimension.
