The zoo was founded in 1950 as a classic Zoo. Meanwhile, all enclosures are already adapted to the standards of modern animal husbandry and animal houses rehabilitated. Here are a few new buildings such as the giraffe house or a complete reconstruction such as the Lion House have been executed.
A large expansion area of 12 hectares was designed with a centrally located 4-hectare Africa conditioning for different plains animals such as giraffes, antelopes, zebras and ostriches.
In the park currently live more than 600 animals.
