This tree and associated plaque are on the front lawn of Oerlikon Fairfield Manufacturing, just off of US 52, locally Sagamore Parkway, in Lafayette, Indiana.

The plaque text:-

THIS TREE WAS PLANTED IN 2001
IN LIVING MEMORY OF
JAMES R. SANSON

I have tried to research who James R. Sanson was, but only found on www.ancestry.com, that he was born in Lafayette in December 1943, and died in Lafayette in July 2000, and served in the Military from 1965 to1967.

I was at this site attending the Annual Harrison High School Classic Car Show held there, in May. (visit link)
