Detwiler Park is located at Oakwood Avenue and Horton Street midway between Flagler Avenue and Third Avenue in the central beachside area. Park facilities include five lighted tennis courts (no reservations required), lighted basketball court, restroom facilities and a children’s playground.

This site, less than a half-mile from the New Smyrna Beach shoreline, was donated to the city in the 1930s. In the late '60s, various local associations requested that it be developed into a community recreation area and it underwent renovations 2007. Geared toward tennis enthusiasts, this small park offers tennis courts that do not require reservations. Tournaments must be scheduled with the city.
