Die Stadt Trochtelfingen liegt auf der sogenannten Kuppenalb und hat eine Gemarkungsfläche von ca. 7916 ha in Baden-Württemberg mit insgesamt 6.333 Einwohnern (2013). Die Stadt Trochtelfingen ist staatl. anerkannter Erholungsort mit einem sehenswerten historischen Stadtkern. Besonders die mit Ochsenblut rot gestrichenen restaurierten Fachwerkhäuser sind sehenswert. Eine Lateinschule in Trochtelfingen gibt es seit 1550, eingeführt unter Pfarrer Kaspar Fattlin (Quelle: (visit link) Das alte Schulhaus stammt von 1747 und wurde bis 1869 als Schule genutzt. Laut der Infotafel diente es danach als Postamt.

The city is an official resort with an interesting historical center. Especially the oxblood red-painted restored half-timbered houses are worth seeing. There are documents that proof that a historic grammar school has been established in 1550. This building with its door dates from 1747 and has been a school until 1869. Afterwards it has been the local post office.
