RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1966 (HJS) THE STATION WAS RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. IT IS LOCATED AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE SIUSLAW RIVER BRIDGE AT FLORENCE. THE STATION IS AN OREGON STATE HIGHWAY DEPT. DISK, STAMPED B.M. S 198 1936, SET FLUSH IN A DRILL HOLE IN THE EAST SIDEWALK OF THE BRIDGE. IT IS 20 FEET EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 1.5 FEET SOUTH OF THE NORTH END OF THE BRIDGE, AND 0.8 FEET WEST OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF A CONCRETE SPIRE.
