DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1956 (LSB) THE STATION IS LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE SIUSLAW RIVER BRIDGE IN FLORENCE. THE STATION MARK, STAMPED FLORENCE 1956, IS A STANDARD BRONZE DISK SET FLUSH IN A DRILL HOLE IN THE SURFACE OF THE WEST CONCRETE SIDEWALK OF THE BRIDGE. IT IS 17 FEET WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF U.S. HIGHWAY 101, 6 FEET SOUTH OF THE NORTH END OF THE BRIDGE, 4 FEET EAST OF THE EAST SIDE OF A CONCRETE SPIRE, AND 4 FEET WEST OF THE EAST EDGE OF THE SIDEWALK.
