Anchor is located just off the Cobourg marina. The anchor was recovered from the wreck of the schooner Jessie Drummond, which sank during a fall storm on 2 December, 1902, while carrying coal.
The Drummond lay on the bottom of Lake Ontario until the fall of 1999, when the crew of the Canadian Coast Guard Cutter 'Advent' recovered the anchor and other personal effects.
There was no loss of life in 1902, as local rescue teams rescued all seven crew.
