Der Lyoner Kaufmann Petrus Valdes predigte in Südfrankreich und gründete die religiöse Gemeinschaft der Waldenser. (visit link) Diese wurden in Frankreich verfolgt und mussten fliehen. In Dornholzhausen, neben Homburg fanden einige in 1699 Zuflucht. Diese Kirche bauten sie in 1724 und durften hier ihren Glauben ausüben. Bis Ende des 19. The Waldensians were founded by Peter Waldo in France. (visit link) But, the Waldensian came into conflict with the Catholic Church and had to escape. Some of them were allowed to settle here in Dornholzhausen near Homburg in 1699. They built their church in 1724 and continued their denomination. Up to the end of the 19th century the services were held in French.

Today it the church is a Evangelical Reformed Church.
