Amado Nervo is fondly remembered here in Tepic. His childhood home is preserved and serves as a Museum.
This apparently bronze sculpture of him is lifesized and depicts him casually sitting on a wall with his left foot resting on a step above the right one. His arms also rest on separate parts of a wall with the right hand holding a pen to a stack of papers. The sculpture is located in Juan Escutia Park.
The plaque reads:

"TEATRO AL AIRE LIBRE
'AMADO NERVO'
INAUGURADO POR EL C. PRESIDENTE
DE LA REPUBLICA
LIC.
JOSE LOPEZ PORTILLO
TEPIC, NAYARIT - MAYO DE 1979"
