The structure was built in 1910 and comprised of meeting room, weighbridge office and band rotunda,The weighbridge operated until 1958, the metal plate and weighbridge scales still survive. The octagonal two storey building above the weighbridge was built as a Band Rotunda with an office and meeting room, now the community information centre, on the ground floor
