Grimes Cemetery is named after Benjamin Franklin Grimes, who settled in the area in 1852. Grimes' daughter is the earliest burial on April 20, 1883. This active cemetery has over eighty graves, included twelve veterans of U.S. wars. It became a Historic Texas Cemetery in 2002.
