In 1999, Ruth Roach was honored with a star on the Texas Trail of Fame, who provides a short overview of her career:

Ruth Roach was an accomplished trick rider, a stunt rider in Tom Mix’s silent films, a world champion bronc rider and a rancher in Nocona, Texas. She was proclaimed to be the "World’s Most Beautiful Cowgirl," appearing with the Miller Brothers 101 Wild West Show. In 1917 she was credited with being the first woman to ride a saddle bronc horse at the Fort Worth Rodeo. In 1922 she rode a horse into the lobby of the Texas Hotel. The stunt was performed to proclaim the Fort Worth Stock Show officially open.

Mrs. Salmon shares a headstone with her husband, Fred, who was a successful rancher in the area. Their headstone is modern, of red granite, with floral detail. On the reverse is the family name, "Salmon", with a horseshoe as a nod to their background. Vases with an "S" on them flank the headstone, and each has their own section for their personal information:

Description:
The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame provides a complementary mini-biography: (see link) Ruth ran away from home to join the 101 Ranch Wild West Show as a trick rider. Her contest debut was at the 1917 Fort Worth Roundup, America’s first indoor rodeo, as a bronc rider. Dubbed the "soft-spoken, rough-riding golden girl of the West," she wore trademark giant hair bows and boots hand-tooled with hearts. She is remembered for trick riding up the steps, across the lobby and through the dining room of Fort Worth’s Texas Hotel.
