The clock is housed in a beautiful green and gold case that is attached to the building with a beam at its base and curved metal brackets at the top. The beam and brackets are painted green. The housing contains two clock faces that are identical.
The name of the store, Marks and Spencer, is marked in white on the clock casing above the face. The face is white, probably traslucent so that it can be back-lit at night. There is a gold edged, hinged glass cover over the face giving it weather protection. The minute and hour marks are black and are marked directly on to the clock face. The hour marks are Arabic numerals. The hands, also black, are a very slim, basic design with tails.
