The Maidstone gyratory is an arrangement of roads that carries traffic in a clockwise direction along both banks of the River Medway and crosses the river twice. The south east bridge is a stone arch bridge that opened in August 1879.

The stone bridge has three arches that carry the road across the River Medway. The bridge carries four lanes of traffic in a south west direction and has a footpath on each side.

There are various inscriptions at the corners of the bridge. The inscription at the west corner reads:

Opened August 6 1879
Charles Ellis - Mayor
Edward Hoar - Clerk

The inscription at the south corner reads:

T F Bunting - Borough Surveyor
Holloway Bros London Ltd - Contractors

The inscription at the east corner reads:

Sir Joseph Bazalgette CB - Engineer
William Webster - Contractor
