Our family patronized this place from a friend's suggestion, more for the theatrics than for the ice cream itself. Creamistry is a growing chain of ice cream shops that try to separate themselves from their competition by promoting a different method of selling ice cream: with liquid nitrogen. A sign hanging on the wall in their store reads:

We handcraft an amazing scoop of ice cream right in front of you using only premium ingredients. Create your own unique recipe from our selection of multiple ice cream bases and over 50 different flavors, mix-ins, and toppings. Liquid nitrogen (-321 degrees) is then added to the cream mixture to freeze it on contact.
The secret to the creamiest ice cream is all in the rapid freezing of the mixture.
Because liquid nitrogen is so cold it causes the milk particles to stay very small creating an ultra smooth and creamy texture.
To be honest, I couldn't really tell the difference between liquid nitrogen infused ice cream and non-liquid nitrogen infused ice cream. There are a good half dozen liquid nitrogen machines in which the employees use at any given second and it's somewhat entertaining to see the liquid nitrogen evaporating out of each machine. The kids love it. The prices are higher than normal (think Cold Stone Creamery) but someone has to pay for all that liquid nitrogen.
