Ve válecných událostech 25. dubna
1945 bylo v tomto prostoru sestre-
leno sovetské letadlo La-7, které
explodovalo, dopadlo nedaleko
na poli a shorelo. Dle nálezu
pozustatku v míste dopadu
usuzovalo se, že letadlo pilotovala
žena. Jméno se nepodarilo zjistit ani po válce.
Obec Babice nad Svitavou postavila v roce 1960
neznámé sovetské letkyni tento pomnícek.
V roce 1978 skupina vojenských historiku pro-
vedla v míste dopadu letadla pruzkum. Byly nale-
zeny kosterní pozustatky letce a hodnocení vyznelo
jednoznacne - letadlo pilotoval muž. Mezi naleze-
nými troskami letadla nalezla se také cást krídla
s evidencním císlem a bylo potvrzeno, že letadlo
pilotoval gardový porucík Alexej Ivanovic Menšikov.
Pozustatky pilota byly pohrbeny u památníku RA
v Babicích v cásti Nová Ctvrt, kde je pohrbeno také
19 vojáku RA, kterí padli v bojích o vesnici.
