This repeater transmits on 443.700 MHz and has a typical +5 MHz offset. This receiver requires that a 141.3 hz CTCSS tone be present before it turns on. This repeater is available for general local use 24 hours a day.
This repeater is located at the Cleveland County District 2 tower, east of Norman, at about 72nd and Alameda. This system uses a Andrew® DB408-B antenna, that provides about 8.7 dBi of gain. This antenna is on the west leg of the tower, about 280 feet above ground level. Ground level at this location is 1,187 feet above sea level.
The South Canadian Amateur Radio Society is an ARRL Special Services Club that serves the Amateur Radio Operators in the Norman, Oklahoma area. The club has been operating since the late seventies, and works hard to help grow the amateur radio community in the region.

The South Canadian Amateur Radio Society (SCARS) is a 501(c)3 Amateur Radio Organization based out of Norman, Oklahoma, home of the University of Oklahoma Sooners.
SCARS Organization
SCARS has been an entity within the city of Norman and Cleveland County for many years, not only working hard to spread knowledge about ham radio but to also serve as a volunteer base during times of emergency.
Community Service
SCARS has many volunteers that are part of the Amateur Radio Emergency Services, (ARES) team and the Community Emergency Response Team, (CERT).
ARRL Special Services Club
SCARS is also identified by the American Radio League as a Special Services Club and a member of the Central Oklahoma Radio Amateurs, a group of clubs that coordinate their efforts across central Oklahoma.
