From the Sisters Ranger Station, travel generally NW on US20 for 9.5 miles to the intersection with FR14. Turn right on FR14 and continue 2.7 miles. Bear left on FR1419 and continue for 0.6 miles. Turn left on Potlatch Lane and continue 0.5 miles to the corner on the right.
Type of survey mark: 3-1/4" brass cap on galvanized iron pipe; flush with the ground

What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?:
The corner is about 180' N from the centerline of Potlatch Lane. There are PROPERTY BOUNDARY and LAND SURVEY MONUMENT signs mounted on a T-post which bears E, 53" distant. Also found a 1-1/2" pipe rising 7" which bears N, 5" distant. Found a sawed ponderosa pine stump in the SW quadrant with a scribed blaze and a yellow BEARING TREE tag. There is another ponderosa pine in the NW quadrant with a healed blaze, a yellow BEARING TREE tag and a LAND SURVEY MONUMENT on the backside. The third bearing tree is down.


What property is this mark defining?:
The entire E half of section 16 is private property except for a 10-acre bump-out of the W half of the section, which is Deschutes National Forest land.
