From the Sisters Ranger Station, travel generally NW on US20 for 9.5 miles to the intersection with FR14. Turn right on FR14 and continue 2.7 miles. Bear left on FR1419 and continue for 1.6 miles. Turn left on Tamarack Lane and continue 1.1 miles, crossing North Fork Lake Creek and finally bearing SE on an access road. The corner is on the right.
Type of survey mark: 2-1/2" brass cap on galvanized iron pipe; flush with the ground

What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?:
The monument is just inside the NW corner of a old, split rail fence. There are two U-posts. One with a PROPERTY BOUNDARY sign bears E, 38" distant. The other with PROPERTY BOUNDARY and LAND SURVEY MONUMENT signs bears S, 46" distant. I did not search for bearing trees, although they are reported to be in the NW and SW quadrants, on public land.

What property is this mark defining?:
The entire E half of section 16 is private property except for a 10-acre bump-out of the W half of the section, which is Deschutes National Forest land.
