Gunnison Beach is part of the Gateway National Recreation Area. Two miles of the beach are legally designated as clothing-optional...and is guarded by lifeguards during the Summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day). There is no fee to use the beach. Parking fees of $10 are charged only during the Summer...but, get here early or you will be turned away....the parking lots get filled up early on Summer weekends...and it is a book crossing zone.
