Large light blue 10-legged water tank near the NE end of Cape May, NJ. Tank is located W of the intersection of Columbia & Madison Avenues.

This tank is actually a National Geodetic Survey benchmark (considered an intersection station) and was described in 1957 as follows:
"THE TANK IS A 128 FT. HIGH, ROUND BOTTOMED, ELEVATED, STEEL STRUCTURE SUPPORTED BY 10 I-BEAM LEGS. THE 700,000 GALLON CAPACITY TANK WAS BUILT IN 1935. THE ROUND ROOF IS SURMOUNTED BY A STANDARD, RED AIRCRAFT OBSTRUCTION LIGHT."
Since this is a "benchmark", it can be logged at www.geocaching.com/mark - it's Point ID # (PID) is HU1299.
There is also a benchmark (actually a triangulation station) disk set in a small concrete post just inside the surrounding fence along Columbia Avenue (HU1300).
