D43 is a so-called Long Tomb , and the only one of this kind in The Netherlands. A few other Long Tombs can be found 100 km to the east of Wildeshausen, just south of Oldenburg in the county Schleeswijk Holstein in Germany. Within the, almost complete, stone circle of 52 restored stones with a length of about 40 meters, two tombs are embedded . The northern tomb has three covering stones, the southern had five covering stones of which inly two are still there. One of the 10 carrying stones is also missing. Both graves have two port - side stones .
