below is all I can find that even hints at this old jail
It will probably disappear soon, the local historical society is almost nonexistent since the museum closed.

"In the 1880s, .... when farmers were raising more wheat the Wilson brothers built an elevator where they stored wheat and what they didn't use they shipped to the St. Louis market. this elevator was built south of the jail. This flour mill was powered by a steam engine and they also had a pond for water." ~ Montgomery County, MOGenWeb
