Of all the unsung workers and heroes who worked on and in support of the Hoover Dam construction project in the 1930's, Alabam's was probably the most important - caring for and maintaining the sites many outhouses!
The statue, by artist Steve Ligouri, was unveiled in 2007. It depicts Alabam as he appeared in a 1930's work photo, albeit 8 feet tall!
He is dressed in workman's clothing, with a fedora stylishly tilted and his ever-present bandolier of toilet paper rolls!
It is interesting (and somewhat fitting) to note that the statue is posted in front of the entrances to Boulder City's public washrooms!
Statue is located at 600 Nevada Way in Boulder City. From US 93 bear right into the downtown area when US 93 bears left to Hoover Dam and Arizona.
