The Crompton Loom Works is among the oldest factory buildings in Worcester. William Crompton invented and patented the first power loom capable of producing fancy weave work. The section with the tower is the oldest section, built in 1860. Sections to the left and right were added at later dates.
The Crompton Loom Works is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today the factory has been converted to retail and residential property
