The church cornerstone was laid in 1893, just after the name of the village was changed from Osborne's Hollow, to Sanitaria Springs, owing to the so-called curative powers of the nearby spring that were sold by a Dr Kilmer in Binghamton. In fact, the church was constructed to meet the spiritual needs of those in the area already as well as new people that had moved in to take advantage of the so called "curative" waters.
The church may be reached by following Circle Drive SE from NY Rte 7 in Sanitaria Springs.
