The plaque says, "Burton Gad Tremaine, Jr. played a vital role in the management of the Bar T Bar Ranch and Meteor Crater Enterprises for over 40 years. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, spending summers in Chandler, Arizona. Following graduation from Yale in 1943, he served with the 65th Infantry Division in Europe, rising to the rank of captain. In 1947, he joined The Miller Company, Meriden, Connecticut, becoming president in 1955. Tremaine brought the same high level of energy and management skills to the ranch, becoming director in 1953. In 1976, he guided the transition to a limited partnership, serving as Managing General Partner from 1977 to 1993, during which time the crater became a tourist site of national significance."
