This polished granite bench honours those who assisted downed Allied airmen during World War II.

The bench is located in the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (B.C.A.T.P.) Garden of Memories in Air Force Heritage Park. It honours citizens in Europe and Asia who assisted Allied airmen whose aircraft were downed behind enemy lines. The bench was placed by the Canadian Branch of the R.A.F. Escaping Society, made up of Allied aircrew who were shot down behind enemy lines and evaded capture or escaped captivity.
The dedication is carved into the front of the bench. It reads:
WE HONOUR THE BRAVE PATRIOTS OF EUROPE/ASIA
WHO AIDED DOWNED ALLIED AIRMEN IN WORLD WAR II
The bench overlooks the central monument of the B.C.A.T.P. Garden of Memories (see separate waymark) which lists and commemorates Manitoba's contributions to aircrew training during World War II.
