George's wife Nellie lived into her 101st year.

The text below is taken from The Ottawa Citizen newspaper, 28 June 1982, page 51.

COX, George Egerton
In hospital on Friday, June 25, 1982, George Cox in his 102nd year. Beloved husband of Nellie Moodie and dear father of Charles and Elizabeth (Mrs. John North). Predeceased by 1 daughter Jean. Grandfather of Ian and James North. Private funeral was held in Tubman Funeral Home Chapel on Monday. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery.

According to the Ontario marriage registration (1914 #009078), George Egerton Cox (son of Samuel Fraser Cox and Ermina McNiece) married Nellie Erskine Moodie in Ottawa, 17 November 1914.

According to the delayed Ontario birth registration (1931 #901187), George Egerton Cox (son of Samuel Fraser Cox, lumberman, and Ermina McNiece) was born in Ottawa, 29 January 1881.
