The Town:

Liedertswil is a municipality in the district Waldenburg in the canton of Basel-Land with about 160 residents.

Liedertswil was first documented in 1194. In the Middle Ages it belonged to Froburg and came to the bishop of Basel in 1366 as a part of the county of Waldenburg, in 1400 in was acquired by the city of Basel. In colloquial language, the village is also called Tschoppenhof, probably after the owner of a farm here around the year 1530.

The town hall of Liedertswil is located in a two-story building in the village center from 1970, in which also the primary school and the fire brigade are located.

Liedertswil ist eine Gemeinde im Bezirk Waldenburg im Kanton Basel-Landschaft mit etwa 160 Einwohnern.

Liedertswil wurde 1194 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Im Mittelalter gehörte es zu Froburg und kam mit der Herrschaft Waldenburg 1366 an den Bischof von Basel und 1400 in den Besitz der Stadt Basel. In der Umgangssprache wird das Dorf auch Tschoppenhof genannt, vermutlich nach dem Besitzer eines Bauernhofs um 1530.

Das Gemeindehaus:

Das Gemeindehaus von Liedertswil befindet sich in einem zweistöckigen Gebäude im Dorfzentrum aus dem Jahr 1970 in dem sich auch die Primarschule und die Feuerwehr befinden.
