The hike on Mt Erskine on Saltspring Island offers scenic viewpoints and a series of fairy doors. This attractive arched door with a blue circular feature is perhaps the best of the Mt Erskine Fairy Doors

Note the details of this fairy door, the circular window up to the right, the firewood set for a campfire to the left. These fairies are enjoying their home just off a viewpoint on the trail descending from the summit. I have met kids hiking in full of enthusiasm with gifts to leave for the resident fairies. Even our old time jaded hiking buddies are enchanted by the fairies along this hike, one of the best on Salt Spring.
This door is featured on the back cover of Charles Kahn's guide to BC's enchanted Isles, "Hiking the Gulf Islands'.
