The 46-mile byway features more than a hundred natural stone arches, formed by the action of wind and water over 70 million years. It winds through the 700,000-acre Daniel Boone National Forest, a rugged area characterized by steep forested ridges, narrow valleys, and more than 3,400 miles of cliffline. Area provides opportunities for outdoor adventure such as canoeing, rock climbing, and kayaking.
