A small circular lake about 10 miles NNW of DeSmet, SD.

Located in the north-central part of Kingsbury County, this lake has about 6.2 miles of shoreline and is situated along 200th Street, just 2 miles west of SD Highway 25.
Several houses and farms are located around the lake.
It has been said that it is so named because of the nearby area being an Indian burial ground but others say it was simply named for Spirit Lake, Iowa.
Types of fish found in this lake are: Northern Pike, Walleye, White Crappie, Yellow Bullhead, and Yellow Perch.
