According to an inscription on the water pump, the pump is a Dempster 380-3-4031. Dempster refers to the Dempster Mill Manufacturing Company of Beatrice, Nebraska.
The following information about Dempster is from the Beatrice Daily Sun (

"After the Homestead Act of 1862 opened the door for settlers to claim free land across the United States, Charles Dempster saw an opportunity.
He founded Dempster Industries in 1878 in Beatrice, becoming the first windmill manufacturer in the country in addition to selling water pumps, cisterns and other tools for pioneer life."
Although the pump doesn't have a date on it, "The oldest grave in the cemetery is that of Georgia Ewing, daughter of J. C. and Mary B. Anderson. She died in 1901. Her father was a CSA soldier." --Source (
