The Calabash Fire Station 12 serves the towns of Calabash and Carolina Shores and an unincorporated rural area in Brunswick County. The Calabash Fire Department's roots go back to 1973. With the assistance of community funds were given to begin the department. It grew from an all volunteer departemnt over the years to its current combination status. It has the good fortune to be funded by a district assessment to keep the department on the cutting edge of training and equipment.
