"Receptor" was created by local sculptor Michael Cottrell and was originally placed on the grounds of the Arboretum as part of a fifth anniversary event called "The Art of Nature" in November 2013. The sculpture was only to have been on loan at the Arboretum for 1 year; however, it has since been donated to the Arboretum by Eli and Martha Bekkum.
