Založení dobrovolného hasicského sboru ve Svitávce
Ruku v ruce s národním obrozením a rozvíjejícím se delnickým hnutím vznikaly snahy o zakládání ruzných zájmových organizací ceského národního charakteru. Nejinak tomu bylo i v naší obci, kdy – zrejme pod silným vlivem založení prvního ceského hasicského sboru na Morave – 1870 v Letovicích – vznikl v roce 1878 hasicský sbor ve zdejší textilní továrne a posléze roku 1885 byl založen náš dobrovolný hasicský sbor. Dne 13. prosince 1885 vydalo nekolik prátel hasicství následující provolání: “Prihlížejíce k duležitosti hasicských sboru, zamýšlíme utvorení sboru dobrovolného obce Svitávky, jehožto úcelem jest chrániti životu i majetku obcanu domácích i vukolních pri nebezpecí ohne. Abychom k zarízení tohoto predbežné porady uciniti mohly, zveme k mimorádné schuzi na nedeli dne 20. prosince tohoto roku o druhé hodine odpolední do místnosti hostince pana Vojtecha Šocha, zde.” dne 13. prosince 1885. Provolání toto se neminulo úcinkem a na cetne navštívené ustavující schuzi dne 20. prosince 1885 promluvil k úcastníkum p. Emil Roth, ucitel ze Svitávky, o významu založení hasicského sboru, o jeho potrebe skutecná i zákonité. Po precteni stanov bylo usneseno sbor založiti, k cemuž se hned prihlásilo 28 cinných clenu. Soucasne usneseno, aby clenové prispívající platili rocne 1,20 zlatých príspevku. Když pak obecní výbor schválil stanovy sboru ve schuzi dne 30. prosince 1885, svolána byla na den 7. února 1886 první valná hromada, na niž byli zvoleni tito cinovníci:
Vojtech Šoch – velitel sboru
Emil Roth – námestek velitele
Josef Mazal – cetar u lezcu
Josef Kripský – cetar u stríkacek
Antonín Jokeš – clen výboru
Dále bylo na valné hromade usneseno objednat od firmy Smékal z Cech po Kosírem výzbroj a výstroj pro tricet mužu.
Obec Svitávka darovala sboru stríkacku, která byla vymenena u firmy Smékal za novou ctyrkolovou po doplacení obnosu 460 zlatých. Obnos tento zaplatila též naše obec, z cehož je patrno, že obecní zastupitelstvo melo pochopení pro mladý sbor, jejž vydatne podporovalo jak morálne, tak i financne.
Pro zacátek mel sbor 318,46 zlatých, které získal cástecne z daru, 63,96 zlatých byl cistý zisk z první zábavy a 68,50 zlatých bylo vybráno na clenských príspevcích. Dne 6. cervna 1886 porádal sbor slavnost, jíž se zúcastnilo hojne prátel hasicstva z místa i okolí.

Establishment of a voluntary fire brigade in Svitávka
Hand in hand with the National Revival and the emerging labor movement arose efforts to establish various interest groups of the Czech national character. It was no different in our village, when - apparently under the tutelage founded the first Czech fire brigade in Moravia - 1870 in Letovicích - originated in 1878, a fire brigade in the local textile factory and later in 1885 was founded by our voluntary fire brigade. On 13 December 1885 issued a number of friends firefighting following proclamation: "Noting the importance of fire brigades, we intend to formation of a corps of voluntary municipality Svitávka, of whose purpose is to protect the lives and property of citizens at home and farms about the danger of fire. This proclamation was successful so the numerous visited constituent meeting on 20 December 1885 addressed the participants p. Emil Roth, a teacher from Svitávka, about the importance of the establishment of the fire brigade, about his need real and legitimate. After reading the articles was decided to start at the choir, which is now registered 28 active members. At the same resolution that members contribute annually pay 1.20 gold contribution. And when the municipal committee approved the statutes of the congregation in its meeting on 30 December 1885, was convened on the day of February 7, 1886 the first meeting, at which they were elected officials:

It was also at a general meeting resolution ordered from Smékal from Bohemia after Kosírem weapons and equipment for thirty men.
The village church donated Svitávka syringe, which was replaced at the company for a new four-wheel Smékal after replenishment sum of 460 gold. This amount also paid our community, from which it is apparent that the municipal council had sympathy for the young body as the heavily supported both morally and financially.
For starters, the congregation had 318.46 gold, which gained partly from donations, 63.96 gold net profit from the first entertainment and 68.50 gold was chosen for member contributions. On June 6, 1886 hosted the choir festival, which was attended abundantly friends firemen from the site and its surroundings.
