Die Dampflokomotive vor Ort stammt aus der Baureihe 52 für Güterzuglokomotiven. Diese Baureihe wurde für den Güterverkehr während des II. Weltkrieg konzipiert. Insgesamt wurden etwa 6300 dieser Loks gebaut und eingesetzt.

Zur Geschichte der ausgestellten Lokomotive:

Die Lokomotive wurde 1943 bei Kruss-Maffei gebaut und befand sich nach dem Krieg im Osten Deutschlands. Dort wurde sie von der Sowjetunion beschlagnahmt und bis 1987 eingesetzt. Von 1987 bis 1989 stand die Lokomotive still, bis sie von RAW Meiningen zur Heizlok umgebaut und so weiter bis 1993 eingesetzt wurde. Zuletzt in Cottbus. Danach wurde sie ins Eisenbahnmuseum Dieringhausen transportiert. Im September 2013 gelangte die Lokomotive nach einer optischen Aufarbeitung vom 'Osnabrücker Verein von Dampflokfreunden' an ihren heutigen Ausstellungsort auf dem Gelände der 'Theo Kerkmann Büromöbelfabrik'.

Die Lokomotive ist über den Parkplatz der Firma frei zugänglich und mit einer Informationstafel versehen.

This steam locomotive comes from the series 52 for freight locomotives. This series has been designed for freight during the second worldwar. About 6,300 of these locomotives were built and used.
