text "On This Site stood the house of worship of the Congregational Religious Society of Franklin, NY organized Oct. , 1793 and incorporated in 1808. The building was destroyed by fire Feb. 3 1918 and the grounds given to the Delaware Literary Institute and Union Free School Oct. 8, 1926. This memorial erected by the Franklin Central School in 1936"
