EN: The Rötteln Castle is located north of Lörracher district Haagen on a hill. It is the third largest castle ruin in Baden and is considered an important landmark Lörrach and one of its tourist attractions.
The castle is about 300 meters long and between 40 and 80 meters wide. The outer bailey with the tavern is freely accessible. The upper castle and the museum are accessible with an entrance fee of 2.50 Euro.
The museum is located in the rebuilt chancellery west of the entrance to the upper castle. The exhibition objects are castle models and objects from everyday life in the Middle Ages, mainly finds from within the castle. There are also temporary exhibitions on different themes.
DE: Die Burg Rötteln befindet sich nördlich des Lörracher Stadtteils Haagen auf einer Anhöhe. Sie ist die drittgrösste Burgruine Badens und gilt als wichtiges Wahrzeichen Lörrachs und eine ihrer touristischen Attraktionen.
Die Burg ist über 300 Meter lang und zwischen 40 und 80 Metern breit. Die Vorburg mit der Schenke ist frei zugänglich. Für die Oberburg und das Museum wird wird 2 Euro Eintritt verlangt.
Das Museum befindet sich in der wieder aufgebauten Landschreiberei westlich des Aufgangs zur Oberburg. Die Austellungsobjekte sind Burgmodelle und Gegenstände aus dem Alltagsleben im Mittelalter, vorwiegend Fundstücke aus der Burg. Daneben gibt es wechselnde Ausstellungen zu verschiedenen Themen.
