Camp Beauregard is a U.S. Army installation that dates to before 1917, northeast of Alexandria, LA, but the Internet is silent regarding Mr. Taylor's ultimate fate: We'll need some details on him and his unit to get some help from the folks at Camp Beauregard or even the National Archives.

Mr. Taylor's grave is marked by a marble monument that has the family name, "Taylor", on the plinth, a U.S. flag at the top, and the following inscription:

Fred W. Taylor

Only Son of
Lizzie Jennings
Born Sept. 8, 1886

Died while in Military
Training at
Camp Beauregard
Oct. 4, 1918.

---

It was hard indeed,
To part with thee
But Christ's strong arm
Supported me.
