"Brookfield is governed by the City Council / City Manager form of government. The Council members are elected at large by registered voters of the City. The City Council elects the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem from its members. Members serve three-year terms. These terms are staggered and a City Council member election is held each year in April. A City Council Member must be 21 years of age and must be resident of City for one year prior to filing for the office. Contact City Clerk for other requirements.
