The Harry A. Gampel Pavilion is a 10,167-seat multi-purpose arena was built from 1987 to 1990. It is the home of the UConn legendary basketball program. The 171,000 sq ft building, designed by the S/L/A/M Collaborative, is constructed by placing a 310' diameter geodesic dome roof on a reinforced concrete plinth. Within the building are the basketball courts, arena seating, and service areas.
